Breast Augmentation

During the last few years there have been many innovations in breast augmentation.  Implants come in many shapes and sizes, and one shape or size does not fit all. Silicone gel implants are now made with cohesive gel; “Gummy Bears”. These implants minimize the chance of gel migration.  Augmentation surgery is an outpatient procedure. Most patients return to work in less than a week. Patients choose breast augmentation for many reasons. Our youngest patient was an 18 year old who was born with one underdeveloped breast, and our oldest patient was 80 years young who wanted to fill out her ball gown. Some patients that want a very modest breast augmentation may request fat grafting of the breast. This procedure can increase the size of the breast by only one cup size at best. Breast Reduction

Patients that have breast reduction surgery are some of my most satisfied patients.  During the surgery the excess breast tissue is removed and the breast is shaped to be in better proportion with the rest of your body. Most reduction techniques require surgery on the breast and some degree of scarring. On a rare occasion a patient may be a candidate for liposuction reduction of the breast with minimal scarring.  The surgery is done as an outpatient procedure and drains are rarely used. Patients generally return to work in 7 to 10 days. Some breast reduction surgery is covered by health insurance. In order for breast reduction surgery to be covered by insurance the patient should not be significantly over weight and they need a documented history of failed physical therapy and treatment of their neck and back pain. Breast Lift

Many women are satisfied with the volume of their breasts but find that the breast has lost its support and is “sagging”. Breast lift surgery repositions the breast back to a lifted position on the chest. The nipple and areola are placed in the center of the breast. Many lift patients prefer a small implant to enhance the breast fullness. A breast lift cannot be done without a scar, although Dr. Rosato will try to make the scars as small as possible. A breast lift is often performed with a small implant to add fullness to the upper part of the breast. Tummy Tuck

Good candidates for an abdominoplasty have loose skin and laxity of the anterior abdominal wall. Patients should be close to their ideal weight to have the best results. Patients that are close to their ideal weight also may be candidates for drainless surgery. The abdominal wall is made up of skin, fat, and the coverings of the muscle. After your consultation with Dr. Rosato, he will determine with you how extensive your procedure will be. Liposuction is often combined with surgery to obtain a desired result.  Some patients may also have hernias after child birth or surgery. Dr. Rosato was trained as a General Surgeon before he completed his Plastic Surgery training and he can repair a hernia if present at the time of surgery. The surgery is usually done as an outpatient. Patients return to work in 7 to 14 days. Body Lifts

Body lifts are used to correct lax skin and fat of the arms, trunk, and legs. These procedures remove the excess skin and fat. The resulting scar is placed in a position to minimize its visibility. These procedures are often combined with facial or breast surgery.  The time to recover from a lower body lift or leg lift is slower than other procedures and most patients require between 2 and 3 weeks off work to recover. Liposculpture or Liposuction

The liposculpture procedure removes fat from below the skin. A dilute mixture of local anesthesia is instilled into the fat and then syringe suction is used to gently remove the excess fat and fluid. The skin is then required to shrink to fit your new form. If your skin is loose and has many stretch marks then you may require surgery to remove the excess skin. Recovery is in 3 to 10 days depending on the amount of fat removed. Buttock Augmentation

Recently enhancement of the buttock has been gaining popularity. There are two types of buttock augmentation one is with your own fat and the other is with an implant. Dr. Rosato does fat transfer to improve the shape of the buttock but does not use implants.  Patients with weight loss can sometimes use the loose tissue of the lower back to augment the buttock. This is part of a lower body lift and can improve this area significantly. Labiaplasty

Labial rejuvenation is also called labiaplasty or vulvaplasty (reshaping of the vulva or labia, the outer and inner lips of the vagina). This procedure has become an increasingly popular option for women. Women that consider labiaplasty may have discomfort from the excess tissue, or desire reshaping after childbirth, significant weight loss, aging or injury to genital structures. Labial rejuvenation offers increased self-confidence and comfort. The surgery is done as an outpatient procedure and patients choose to have twilight anesthesia or have the surgery under local anesthesia. Dr. Rosato does not do surgery inside the vagina.
